914 storage is easily accomplished in a heated
dehumidified garage. The following steps should be followed:
1. Steam clean complete underneath of car
and thoroughly dry.
2. Add the right amount of gas stabilizer
(such as POR-15) into the tank and completely fill with
gasoline, operate engine until solution has had time to
work through to the injectors. Top tank to the brim.
3. Remove the spark plugs, squirt oil in the
cylinders and turn the engine over to coat the cylinders.
Reinstall plugs loosely.
4. Change engine oil and refill adding an
extra quart.
5. Thoroughly bleed the brake system with
fresh fluid.
6. Relieve the pressure on the windshield
washer bottle.
7. Remove the battery and deacid the area
with battery cleaner or baking soda and water.
8. Lubricate all rubber seals with silicone
and thoroughly carnuba wax the car. Install flannel-lined
car cover.
9. Elevate car and rest on padded jack stands
under floor pan triangles.
10. Inflate tires to 50 lbs.
11. Lay an oil dry mat under the power plant
to catch any drips.
Your 914 is now ready for storage.
