A severely worn a/c belt will no longer be able to grip the pulleys and will start to slip and cause a loud squealing noise when the a/c is turned on. Belts undergo a lot of friction and wear. They are cost effective to change and will keep you're a/c functioning properly. Be sure to follow recommended service and replacement intervals set by Porsche on belts.
