Injected 1.8 Air Intake Cone System
The
problem with the original air box, is the "momentum"
of air delivered to the engine, as well as ambient
temperature around the air intake. The original
system picks up a hot air from the 3" opening.
Our system involuntarily receives its air without
restrictions-360 degrees, right from under the
side-open grill. Also note, the engine's power
drops 1% for every 10 degree rise in temperature.
On larger engines the drop is insignificant.
On smaller engines the problem will weaken the
engine at higher RPM levels. The performance
difference demonstrated by our system is noticeable
at higher RPM levels, when more air is required.
Using the original “dove tail” screw,
our system attaches easily to the same place
as an original air box. The aluminum bracket
is shaped to allow the air/flow meter to be
at the same position and the same angle as it
was with the original air box, thus preventing
s-shape boot from changing its position.
